Welcome to DUEL (Do U Even Lift?) (“DUEL,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).
By accessing or using the DUEL mobile application, website, or related services (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Governing Standard

DUEL operates under a defined competitive standard.

All rules governing strength calculation, leaderboard eligibility, permanence of records, verification requirements, decay mechanics, and disqualifications are defined in “The Standard.”

The Standard is the authoritative source for all competitive and ranking-related matters and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

In the event of any conflict between these Terms and The Standard, The Standard shall control.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use DUEL. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

2. Nature of the Platform

DUEL is a fitness tracking, competition, and social performance platform.
It allows users to:

  • Log workouts and lifts

  • Participate in leaderboards and challenges

  • Compare performance metrics

  • Engage socially with other users

DUEL is not a medical service, coaching service, or healthcare provider.

3. Permanent & Competitive Data Acknowledgment

By creating an account, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Certain performance data (including lifts, scores, rankings, and competition results) may be permanent

  • Leaderboards are competitive and public within the DUEL ecosystem

  • Performance data cannot always be edited, reset, or removed, even if an account is later deleted

  • Participation implies acceptance of competitive comparison with other users

DUEL is designed for users who voluntarily choose competition and accountability.

4. Data Collection & Use

We collect and store data you provide, including but not limited to:

  • Profile information

  • Workout and performance data

  • App usage and engagement data

  • Device and technical information

This data is used to:

  • Operate and improve the Service

  • Generate rankings, analytics, and insights

  • Maintain platform integrity and fairness

  • Conduct anonymized research and product development

5. Data Anonymization

When possible, personal identifiers are separated from performance data.
Aggregated and anonymized data may be used for:

  • Statistical analysis

  • Platform optimization

  • Research and reporting

We do not sell personally identifiable user data.

6. Account Deletion

If you delete your account:

  • Your name, profile image, and direct identifiers may be removed

  • Historical performance data may remain in anonymized or aggregated form

  • Leaderboard placements and competition results may persist without identifying information

7. User Responsibility & Safety Disclaimer

You acknowledge that:

  • All physical activity involves inherent risk

  • You are solely responsible for your health, safety, and training decisions

  • DUEL does not provide medical advice or personalized training guidance

Always consult a qualified professional before beginning any fitness program.

8. Accuracy of Submissions

You agree to:

  • Submit truthful and accurate workout data

  • Not manipulate, falsify, or exploit the system

  • Compete fairly and honestly

DUEL reserves the right to remove content, suspend accounts, or invalidate results if abuse or manipulation is detected.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, software, and design elements of DUEL are owned by DUEL or its licensors.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or exploit any part of the Service without written permission.

10. Community Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users

  • Post unlawful, offensive, or misleading content

  • Attempt to reverse engineer or disrupt the Service

DUEL reserves the right to moderate content and enforce community standards.

11. Service Availability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.”
We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, accuracy of rankings, or continuous availability.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • DUEL is not liable for injuries, losses, or damages resulting from use of the Service

  • DUEL is not responsible for user-generated content or competitive outcomes

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict of law principles.
